Asiago Observatory
The main observational facility of the Department of Astronomy at the University of Padua in northern Italy. There are telescopes at two locations. The original instrument, a 1.22-metre (48-inch) reflector inaugurated in 1942, is located in the foothills of the Alps, 90 kilometres (60 miles) to the north of Padua. The 1.82-metre (72-inch) Copernicus Reflector, inaugurated in 1973, is located at a higher site - Cima Ekar, 12 kilometres (7 miles) to the east. There is also a 0.67-metre (26-inch) Schmidt camera at this site.
